This week at Olivet


Events on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University for the week of Monday, November 16 through Sunday, November 22, 2009:

Don Lee’s Touch Down Club
Monday, November 16, 11:30 a.m.
Chicago Dough Company

Don Lee's Touchdown Club will take place at Chicago Dough Company, located at 545 South Main Street, Bourbonnais. This will the final meeting of the season.

Don Lee, Head Football Coach, and his staff, will thoroughly go over the previous week's game by showing game film and answering questions. They will introduce their game-plan for the upcoming week's game. They will go over schemes for the offensive, defensive, and special teams. They will also reveal their scouting report of their opponent. There will be time for questions.

Chicago Dough Company will have their pizza lunch buffet available for $6.00 (drink and tax included).

Concert Singers Benefit Concert
Tuesday, November 17, 7 p.m.
Tickets: $10
Kresge Auditorium

The ONU Concert Singers, as part of the ONU Asia Initiative, are planning a trip to Korea and Hong Kong in May. As part of that we are partnering with special guest Dr. Ovid Young for a dessert benefit concert.

Dessert is available only with an advanced purchase. Also to help raise funds, Dr. Young is making one of his CDs available at the concert for a donation.

Purple and Gold Days
Friday and Saturday, November 20 and 21

Join other high school seniors and their parents for an in-depth look at Olivet.

Some of the opportunities afforded to students and their families during this weekend include: touring the campus, meeting with admissions counselors, meeting with financial aid representatives, attending an academic open house, campus meals, Tiger athletic events, Department of Music performances, and a trip for pizza and Starbucks in Chicago or an on-campus musical, play or student activity!

Students stay overnight in a campus resident hall with a current Olivet student.

Reduced lodging rates are available for parents at area hotels.

Wonders of the Universe
Saturday, November 21, 6 p.m.

Peer deep into space through the eyes of the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope and travel back billions of years in time to witness the birth of the universe.

On this breathtaking excursion you'll witness the formation of galaxies and explore some of the most wondrous nebulae and astronomical structures yet discovered. As your travels continue, you'll fly deep into our own Milky Way galaxy and return home to Earth on a spectacular tour through the solar system.

Appropriate for middle school to adult audiences.

Show time approximately 45 minutes.
