What percentage of his/her brain does the average person use?
But let’s not get TOO hasty here. If you immediately answered “10 percent,” you are … well… (How can we put this delicately?) … wrong.
According to Dr. Aaron Carroll, author of Don't Swallow Your Gum: Myths, Half-Truths, and Outright Lies About Your Body and Health, the commonly held ten percent myth probably goes back to the days of snake-oil salesmen who needed a catchy hook to convince people they could be smarter. "The oil is gone, but the myth is still around," says Carroll.
In reality, he reports, the percentage is much higher.
So how much of your brain are you really using? Take a guess in the comments section, and we’ll post the correct answer next week.
Answer to last week’s question: Psalms is the longest Book of the Bible. Congrats to quick draw Christine who knew the answer faster than the rest of us could even look it up.
