The bleachers are up, and the commemorative program is off to the printers. It’s official: Graduation is just around the corner!
This year marks Olivet Nazarene University’s 97th annual Commencement ceremonies.
Though several things have changed over the years, the academic regalia remains largely unchanged. The Class of 2009 will don black robes and black caps — and colorful tassels that designate their specific academic field. The color of these tassels, which also appear on the trim of the hoods worn by master’s and doctoral graduates, are consistent with the colors worn at colleges and universities throughout the United States.
