Trivia Tuesday: As the prophets foretold

In the midst of all the jingle belling, present unwrapping and treat eating, we hope that you take time to remember the true reason for the season. That is, God came to earth in the form of a baby, to save us from our sins.

Of course, Jesus’ birth was not a last-minute decision of the Heavenly Father. Rather, He planned for our redemption from the beginning of time. What’s more, He offered repeated hints at how it would happen through His chosen prophets.

In fact, when the magi inquired about the Savior’s whereabouts, King Herod’s priests and scribes knew exactly where to look because of what a certain prophet had said.

Which prophet did Herod’s chief priests and teachers of the law quote in the following passage? “But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.

a. Micah

b. Jeremiah

c. Jonah

d. Joel

Take a guess in the comments section, and we’ll post the correct answer following Olivet’s Christmas break.

Answer to last week’s question: Congrats to Amber for correctly answering last week's trivia question! If your true love were to send you all the gifts from the “12 Days of Christmas,” you would receive 184 birds, including 12 partridges, 22 turtle doves, 30 French hens, 36 calling birds, 42 geese and 42 swans. Our advice: Find a new true love.
