Trivia Tuesday: Green Eggs and Ham

Tonight, Olivet’s Department of English and Modern Languages, in association with the Sigma Tau Delta English honor society, will be hosting the second annual Dr. Seuss Celebration at College Church.

Children and parents alike are sure to enjoy the baked treats, hot chocolate, professors and students in costumes, and most importantly, fun readings from the whimsical mind of Dr. Seuss.
Dr. Seuss wrote dozens of children’s stories during his lifetime, and remains the best-selling children’s author of all time. Of those books, Green Eggs and Hams has sold the most copies and is perhaps the most critically acclaimed.

Green Eggs and Ham was written because of a $50 bet a publisher made with Dr. Seuss. What was that bet?

Take a guess in the "Comments" section and we'll post the correct answer next week.

Answer to last week’s question: D. The main purpose of Columbus' first voyage was to find a route by water to the Spice Islands so that Spain would have an advantage over other European powers in the lucrative spice trade.
