Trivia Tuesday: Lazy summer


The warm and carefree days of summer have inspired countless musical composers to put their seasonal bliss to song.


American composer George Gershwin wrote one of the most famous of these melodies for a 1935 opera, Porgy and Bess. This tune, titled “Summertime,” is an enduring favorite and has become a jazz standard.


Chances are you’ve heard the tune, but can you supply the missing lyrics?


Summertime and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is fine
